This is essentially an ultra precise crimping tool where the precision dies can be manually & easily changed.This allows an easy upgrade path. For example, whilst initially you might only have a need to crimp very large crimps, you might subsequently have a need to crimp smaller crimp pins....simple - just buy one of the smaller die plates & fit it! It also means that if you buy the other two die plates, you have the capability to crimp many, many crimp types....yet without having to have many crimping tools cluttering up your tools case.
The pad-13 comes with one die plate (the pad-13s size 'L') already fitted,with two other die plates the 'pad-11s' (size 'S') & the 'pad-12s' (size 'M') available to buy separately.

Note: When looking at the specification diagram below, please note that the manufacturer refers to the tool with no die plate fitted as a 'pad-10 frame' (essentially the handles minus the crimping die plate). The pad-10 frame can be fitted with any of three available die plates..the die plates are names .the pad-11s, the pad-12s or the pad-13s. The product is sold with one die plate already fitted....
Once the pad-11s die plates are fitted to the pad-10 frame, then this combination is called the 'pad-11 handy crimp tool'
Once the pad-12s die plates are fitted to the pad-10 frame, then this combination is called the 'pad-12 handy crimp tool'
Once the pad-13s die plates are fitted o the pad-10 frame, then this combination is called the 'pad-13 handy crimp tool'
THIS ADVERT IS FOR THE PAD-13....SO IT COMES WITH THE PAD-13S DIE PLATE PRE-FITTED (the pad-13s is the largest sized set of the 3 available die plate sets & has 2.5mm, 2.8mm, 3.1mm, 3.4mm & 3.7mm width dies)
|** Before use, please make sure that wire size meets the standard provided by each connector maker and that the configuration and size of terminal is adaptable to the crimping dies.
** Adjust each wings of the open-barrel pin to be parallel with one another before crimping.
** Make sure that connector pin is not bent before insertion into the die cavity.
** Do not angle the contact pin when inserting into a die cavity (to avoid deforming the pin when crimping)
** Do not squeeze handles excessively hard while crimping insulator crimp lugs, which may cause wire breakage.
